How will I be paid?
As an Employee that is between you and the Employer that employs you through the site. 86Staff doesn't take a cut of your payment we only make money through the Employer's memberships.
Am I employed by 86Staff if I accept a job?
No, we don’t employ any freelancers to do hospitality jobs, you are your own boss.
Why was my account deleted?
We pride ourselves on having some of London’s best hospitality staff on 86Staff and to ensure this, anyone who scores below three stars or doesn't turn up for a job will have their account terminated. If you think your account has been terminated by mistake, please email us at email@example.com with a subject heading of “Account Deletion”, and we will get back to you ASAP.
I don't have a rating, how will I get hired?
No Freelancer has a rating when they first start on 86Staff; this is why we ask you to fill out the Experience section of your profile. If you have the right experience then getting hired will be a breeze.
Questions from Venues
Why do you give a month's membership free?
We believe that you should be able to test anything before you settle on using that product, think of it as our probation period.
Why am I giving payment details, didn't you say there was a free trial period?
Yes there is a free trial period, and once that ends we will automatically start billing you for your membership, 10% of which goes to Hospitality Action, but don’t worry you can cancel or suspend it at any time you like, no questions asked.
Is there a limit to the number of hires I can have in a month?
Nope. Hire who you like when you like.
How do I pay the Freelancer?
Whatever deal you and the Freelancer have struck up is between you and them. We don’t employ any of the freelancers so we can’t pay them.
Why would you give 10% of the membership profits to Charity?
Part of the reason we created 86Staff is to give back to the hospitality industry. We provide the 10% of memberships to Hospitality Action, and you can check out their website here to find out more about their fantastic work.
Do you vet Employees on 86Staff?
We aim to keep the standards of Employees offering their services high. We do this by removing employees who score below three stars in a rating or if they don't turn up to a shift.
The Freelancer I hired hasn’t turned up for the shift, what should I do?
Have you tried contacting them? All Freelancers are aware that their rating and reviews are public so any negative feedback would affect their future opportunities of being hired. With this in mind, we believe that no freelancer using our service would miss a chance to work with you on purpose. In the instance, they do, send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will remove their account from the site.
Can I suspend my account until further notice?
Of course. We understand that in certain months work can be slow and a £75 membership for something you aren’t using is just a waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere. Go to Subscription history to disable auto-renewal from there, be aware that you won't be charged for the following month.
I don't want to be a member anymore, how do I remove my account?
We are sorry to see you go. To remove your account from 86Staff.com please email admin@86Staff.com and a team member will get to work on it.
